Campaign Promise

As of October 21, 2024, my journey running for Mayor in Rancho Santa Margarita has been a mix of encouragement, bewilderment, and the kind of exhaustion that sneaks up on you—like following a Yellow Brick Road with just 15 days left!

Although I'm not engaged with or affiliated with any organization, I’m running this campaign with strict diligence. My nonpartisan commitment is clear: I’m on the ballot as an independent candidate, with my sole priority being the citizens of Rancho Santa Margarita—not special interest groups. I’m running a clean campaign powered by real people (just one small handful) and, most importantly, by the WORD of GOD.

As 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us: "For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and of sound mind.." This verse strengthens me daily:

  • Fearlessness: The Spirit gives us courage to face challenges head-on.
  • Power: The Spirit provides the strength to endure and remain hopeful.
  • Love: The Spirit guides us to love one another deeply.

Some believe fear leads to trying to control people, situations and their outcome, rather than trusting God, while others know faith is the antidote to fear. For me, it’s the latter.

NO SIMPLE MISTAKE

Dear Neighbor and Voter

I hope this message finds you and your family in excellent health, thriving both in spirit and activity. Please forgive my delayed communication—my campaign for Mayor of Rancho Santa Margarita has been a whirlwind, as I run a solo campaign with just three dedicated individuals and a modest budget of $2,000. Though the resources may be small, our aspirations are anything but, and we’re determined to rise to the challenge with all the heart and resilience we can muster.

With both gratitude and purpose, I reflect on the many wonderful encounters I've had over the past few months. As I handed out my small stickers and connected with community members, I was privileged to hear your concerns. Together, we’ve discussed important matters, including the recent Boys and Girls Club situation, the contentious debate surrounding a costly museum replacement, our city's preparedness for catastrophic disasters, and the ever-rising utility costs. Each conversation has been a chance to gain valuable insight, and your voices have deeply shaped my campaign’s focus.

For those I’ve yet to meet, I warmly invite you to visit my website at rivera4rsm.net to learn more about me and my vision: Transparency, accountability, and unwavering ethics are not just words—they are the principles I live by, and I believe they must guide all of us at every level of government.

I am particularly troubled by this week’s press release in which our current mayor admitted to filing an “inaccurate statement” with our city clerk and Orange County Voter’s Registration. This isn’t a simple mistakeit raises serious questions about the ethics and integrity of our leadership, and it’s a sign that we must be vigilant in holding our elected officials accountable at all times. We have allowed this to happen, and now reek the consequences as well.

Thank you for your continued support and trust. Let’s move forward with hope and determination for a honest and concerned leadership in Rancho Santa Margarita. I humbly ask for your confidence and vote in me. Vote Myrta Rivera 2024 For Mayor of RSM

WE WILL NOT SURVIVE CENSORSHIP

CARRYING MY CROSS

Several years ago, I lived in Laguna Woods, but since my move to Rancho Santa Margarita, I’ve witnessed a troubling series of unsound decisions by our city council. These concerns stirred my spirit, leading me to make the important decision to run for Mayor in 2024.

I firmly believe that God has called me into this arena as part of His discipleship. His guiding hand has provided me the opportunity to spread His Word, not only within our city offices but throughout the broader community. This calling is the reason I’m reaching out to you today. I humbly ask you, your staff, and the congregation to lift me in prayer as I embark on this journey.

As a soldier of Christ living in what often feels like the theater of the absurd, I have chosen to plunge into battle against the forces of darkness and the unscrupulous behaviors that have taken root locally. My mission is simple, but profoundly important: to bring the light of God’s truth into every corner of our government—local, state, and federal. I am not asking for anything other than your prayers and, if you feel inclined, a visit to my campaign webpage, rivera4rsm.net, where you can read more about why I am taking up this cross in service of our community and His Kingdom.

I am resolved to follow Jesus’ command to "carry my cross" by boldly proclaiming His Word within the halls of government, refusing to submit to the growing pressures of censorship. As I often remind those around me, "We can survive disagreement, but we will not survive censorship." In this, I stand firm.

Pastors, I would love to hear your thoughts after you’ve had a chance to read this message. Thank you for your time, your prayers, and your leadership in our community.

Focused on God and the future of RSM,
Myrta Rivera

PUBLIC LEARNING

Public Learning

I hope this message finds you and your family in excellent health, thriving in both spirit and activity. Please forgive my delayed communication—my campaign for Mayor of Rancho Santa Margarita has kept me incredibly busy, and there are new developments I need to share with you.

I reach out today with both gratitude and purpose, especially to those I've had the pleasure of meeting over the past few months. For those of you I’ve not yet met, I invite you to visit my website at rivera4rsm.net to learn more about my vision for Rancho Santa Margarita. Campaigns, as you might imagine, are both demanding and costly. With a limited budget of $2000, I’m taking this opportunity to connect directly with you and share important updates.

Much could be said about the challenges and disheartening behavior I've encountered along the way, but I’ll spare you the political drama that often overshadows meaningful discussion—especially during this turbulent 2024 election season. Sadly, we've all seen how ambition can drive people to act in ways that are unpredictable and insincere.

While we are fortunate to call Rancho Santa Margarita our home, one of the most pressing concerns we face is a lack of community participation in the decision-making process. Too often, we’ve relied solely on our City Council to make choices for us without actively engaging in the discussions that shape our community. I’m disheartened by the fact that many of us are not attending City Council meetings. These meetings provide a critical opportunity for us to make our voices heard and where we can bring necessary items and issues to the table. I expect to see the entire community participate at these meetings when I’m your mayor.

We are all blessed to live in such a beautiful and close-knit community, but maintaining this requires more than just appreciation—it requires active engagement. By participating and staying informed, we can collectively shape the future of Rancho Santa Margarita. I invite you to join me in this effort.

Despite this, one thing remains clear: your vote is crucial. The choices made in this election will shape Rancho Santa Margarita for the next four years, during which we will undoubtedly face systemic challenges—challenges that demand strong, ethical leadership. This is why I encourage you to exercise your right to vote and vote for me.

Thank you for your time, and remember that your voice and your actions are vital in keeping our community strong. God bless us all. In God We Trust.

GET INVOLVED

GET INVOLVED

My dear neighbor and voter,
I pray that you, and your family are all well, and are staying actively busy. Which is the reason that I have not contacted you sooner. My run for Mayor of Rancho Santa Margarita has me quite busy on the campaign trail (as it’s being called).

Nonetheless, lots to be said about my efforts, but I won't bore you with the sheer dismal dissent of the deceitful ways people behave. Which I have no doubt that ALL of you are vastly aware of, and have no doubt seen or heard how people act or conduct themselves, especially during this 2024 campaign election.

With this said, I certainly have a lot to talk about and share because of what we here in Rancho Santa Margarita have in common. Which is why I am reaching out to you.  I want to thank those of you whom I have met over the past several months, and to those of you whom I have not met, please go to my website rivera4rsm.net.  So much to share but as campaigns are so expensive, and my budget limit is $2000, I am adhering to this to send you a warm welcome to get to know a little bit about me. I encourage everyone to GO VOTE and to make a wise decision because the next four years Rancho Santa Margarita will be facing a few difficult challenges ahead.

It's a rare occasion to meet a kind person with a genuine giving heart, and I consider everyone here in RSM very fortunate and blessed to live here but we must ALL participate to keep it safe. We can’t just rely on the police and fire department to keep watch, or keep us protected. We can ALL do our part. Some of us can join the Community Emergency Rescue Team to help others in need. Please participate and do what you can to be prepared.

You are a blessing to all and remember God loves you always.
